Why Brian Stolar Loves Supporting The Valerie Fund
The Valerie Fund is another one of Brian Stolar’s favorite organizations. Brian’s contribution to the Valerie Fund has helped in keeping Valerie Goldstein’s parent’s dream alive. The Valerie Fund supports children with blood disorders and cancer by providing them with quality health care. This organization was launched in 1976 by Sue and Ed Goldstein in the memory of their beloved daughter Valerie.
Donations from individuals and companies from across the country help support the Valerie Fund Children’s Centers for Cancer and Blood Disorders. There are currently seven centers in Philadelphia, New Jersey and New York. At one time, children like Valerie had to travel far to major hospitals in order to receive treatment. Thanks to the Valerie Fund, sick children can now receive innovative outpatient care close to their homes. The Valerie Fund also provides emotional support to parents and families who are caring for a sick loved one.
Here are a few interesting facts about the Valerie Fund:
- They host more than 25,000 patients annually.
- The Valerie Fund Children’s Centers are the largest healthcare facilities for children.
- The treatment centers provide a fun and happy atmosphere for kids.
- Transportation is provided for parents.
- Workshops are available for families.
- Scholarships are offered and much more.
One thing that inspired Brian Stolar to support this organization is hope for the children. There are many success stories about children who recovered from their illnesses. For example, a teenager named Alex was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumor at 18-months-old. He is now 15-years-old. He says that his parents once mentioned that he was very happy while staying at the children’s center. There are many other success stories about children who have received comprehensive treatment during their time of need.
Brian Stolar is looking forward to hearing more success stories as he continues to support the Valerie Fund.
